The West - to
- East cycle ride has begun. At 11:14am
on Sunday 6th I started out from
Holyhead and reached Betswy Coed,
despite lots of cold rain and a sore
bum, about three and a half hours later.
To be
continued!
My very gentle ride from Holyhead to
Aldeburgh is finished. A total of 343 miles
in six stages and these were completed when
I found the time, usually when we were
visiting family.
As most of you will know the last leg from
Thetford to Aldeburgh was completed on
Saturday and these last 50 miles turned out
to be some of the most difficult because of
a strong, cold headwind.
I should like to thank especially David (and
Jenny) and John (and Val) for joining in
with this last stage. Also two non club
members Giles Smith and his pal Rodney who
were good companions for the day. Also
Andrew Read who joined us for lunch. It was
truly gallant of David and John to join in
and encourage me on.
Thanks to all who have sponsored us. We
should, when all the money comes in, have
raised about £580.
As you can see the photographs depict some
strenuous periods during the ride - and the
picture which best captures this is the one
where David and I are finding difficultry
leaving the pub!
